Michael Thomas

Fellow

Michael Thomas (he/him) was born in Eustis, Florida and moved to Gainesville in 1996 at 2 years old. After graduating from Eastside High School, he attended SFCC as a psychology major, but that abruptly came to a stop.

He quickly began to experience prejudice, depression and poverty which lead to addiction, homelessness and incarceration. He now strives to help those who were once in his position, both individually and structurally, even as he still climbs his way out of these circumstances.

As a loving father of 6, Michael believes we should change the world for children. Breaking down the wall of oppression, one brick at a time. Michael joins Community Spring, with purpose of lending credence to oppression not always seen with the natural eye.
