Max Tipping, Esq.

Policy Director & Co-founder

Max is a public interest attorney and social entrepreneur who has dedicated his career to advocating for economic justice. As a co-founder and Policy Director of Community Spring, Max works alongside formerly incarcerated people to reform unjust systems that trap people in poverty. His work focuses on policy and legal advocacy around fines and fees, employment barriers, and housing access. He also oversees strategic planning and evaluation for the organization. 

Previously, Max was a staff attorney and Equal Justice Works fellow at the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless, representing families in DC’s rapid re-housing program and advocating for policy reforms to protect their rights and housing stability. Before law school, he served as the Executive Director of the Alachua County Coalition for the Homeless and Hungry, coordinating homeless services among 35 agencies across five counties. 

Max holds a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and a B.A. in political science and economics from the University of Florida.
