Lacorya Lynn Roark
Communications Manager
Lacorya Lynn Roark (she/they) is the Communications Manager for Community Spring, where she leads digital fundraising initiatives, outreach material development, newsletter and social media management, and co-hosts the Storytelling for Change workshop series. With over three years of communications experience, she has become a driving force behind the organization's digital presence and engagement.
Lacorya's journey with Community Spring began in 2021 as a fellow while pursuing her online coursework at the University of South Florida. After completing her fellowship, she relocated to Tampa to finish her degree and gain research experience in campus labs. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2023 and returned to Community Spring as Communications Coordinator before advancing to her current role as Communications Manager.
Lacorya has always had a love for art. As a child, her artwork covered every surface of her family home: walls, cabinets, and tables. She discovered her passion for digital design after taking a graphic design course in high school, and continued developing her skills in Canva during her fellowship.
Since joining Community Spring again, Lacorya has helped raise nearly $200,000 through digital fundraising campaigns, grow newsletter subscriptions by 230%, and enhance organizational visibility through a complete website redesign.
When she's not working, Lacorya enjoys playing cozy video games, reading, creating digital art, and spending time with her cat, Lady Syphilis, and puppy, Aphasia.
